Hurricane and Flood Debris Dumpsters in Charlotte County
Call and we will connect you with an independent local provider.
CALL NOW: (941) 740-6242Charlotte County knows hurricanes. Charley in 2004 and Ian in 2022 both came ashore close by, and Milton's storm surge hit Englewood and Manasota Key in 2024. Call (941) 740-6242 to reach an independent local hauler for storm cleanup. We are a referral service.
After the storm
County curbside debris collection can take weeks after a major hurricane, and it has strict sorting rules. A private dumpster lets you clear wet materials right away, which is the most important step in stopping mold.
Flood cleanup steps
- Make sure power is off before entering a flooded home.
- Photograph and video everything for insurance before removal.
- Pull wet carpet, pad and furniture.
- Cut drywall a couple of feet above the water line and remove wet insulation.
- Run fans and dehumidifiers once power is back.
Wear boots, gloves and an N95 or better mask. Keep fuel, chemicals, batteries and propane tanks out of the dumpster.
Lanais, pool cages and docks
Wind tears screen enclosures apart and surge damages docks and seawall caps. Bent aluminum and screen can go in a roll-off, and many haulers recycle aluminum separately. Rebuilding a pool enclosure requires a licensed contractor; the dumpster handles the old debris.
Availability after a storm
Every hauler in Southwest Florida gets booked after a major hurricane. Call as soon as roads are clear, and expect higher prices and longer waits. If a storm is forecast, ask about reserving a container ahead.
Insurance
Debris removal is often covered under homeowners or flood policies up to a limit. Keep the receipt and ask your adjuster.
Watch for scams
After storms, out-of-area operators show up asking for cash up front. Use local companies with a real phone number and a business tax receipt, and never pay in full before delivery.
